Students gather at the riverfront April 23rd to celebrate hope at Marist's Relay for Life in support of cancer research.
The organization's symbolic purple balloons were hung everywhere on the riverfront property in support of the walk.
Students approach the balloon archway during the first lap of the Relay.
A banner strung up on the side of the boathouse reading "Why I Relay" encouraged students to share their stories of sadness, triumph, and most of all, hope by leaving handprints filled with the names of loved ones lost, survived, or currently battling this vicious disease.
Manicurist Mary, a member of the Amani family for one year, gives a customer the royal treatment at her manicure station.
Tom, the sole male employee at Amani, beautifies a customer bright and early.
Hairsylist Marina, who is nine months pregnant with her second child, takes a moment to survey the goings-on around the rest of the salon.
Marina intently focused on making sure her customers look their best.
I'm a college student...I sort of like taking pictures. A lot.
